Hero MotoCorp has launched the SURGE, a remarkable multi-purpose three-wheeler, at the Hero World 2024 event in Jaipur. This innovative vehicle features an electric scooter within the three-wheeler frame, which can be detached in a matter of minutes, offering utility as both a three-wheeler and a two-wheeler. With seating capacity for two individuals on the front seat, this vehicle belongs to the SURGE S32 series.
The company plans to release four variants under this vehicle series: S32 PV, LD, HD, and S32 FB. Currently, the S32 LD variant has been unveiled, equipped with features such as an 11 kWh battery capacity and 10 kW power output, capable of achieving a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour.
Upon conversion to two wheels, it can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, powered by a 3.5 kWh battery providing 3 kW of power. The transformation from two wheels to three wheels and vice versa takes approximately 3 minutes, facilitated by the scooter being integrated within the three-wheeler itself. The seating capacity remains consistent with a front seat accommodating two individuals in three-wheeler mode, which converts to a scooter seat upon detachment.
