In recent days, North India has grappled with persistent and dense fog, significantly affecting transportation across states such as Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, West Madhya Pradesh, and West Rajasthan. The weather forecasting agency has forecasted the continuation of dense to very dense fog in Northwest India for the next 3-4 days.

In the last 24 hours, areas including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh, northwest Rajasthan, and northwest Madhya Pradesh reported dense to very dense fog, leading to poor visibility and disruptions in air travel. Notably, flight diversions and delays occurred at major airports, including Delhi and Hyderabad.

For instance, Vistara’s flight UK873 from Mumbai to Hyderabad was diverted to Bangalore due to adverse weather conditions at the Hyderabad airport. Earlier this week, the Delhi airport experienced 12 flight diversions and numerous delays attributed to dense fog. The airport authorities provided a fog alert, emphasizing the potential impact on non-CAT III compliant flights. CAT III compliance is crucial for operations in low-visibility conditions.

Delays and diversions have prompted concerns among passengers, with more than 30 flights reportedly delayed at the Delhi airport. To stay informed, passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest and most accurate flight information.
