In a fiercely competitive market, the Jeep Compass has maintained its premium rugged image, but faces challenges from more affordable rivals. To address this, Jeep introduces the front-driven automatic drivetrain for the Compass, aiming to enhance its appeal.

Visually, the Jeep Compass 4×2 AT retains its iconic look, with a noticeable absence of the 4×4 badge. The 2024 update brings stylish alloy wheels to all variants, and the introduction of the Black Shark variant adds a distinctive black-themed design, enhancing the compact, blocky appearance of the Compass.

Internally, the Compass 4×2 AT mirrors the 4×4 versions, except for a simplified central tunnel. The Black Shark variant maintains its black theme inside, featuring all-black panels and replacing chrome accents with stylish dull red elements.

In terms of features, the Compass 4×2 AT spans various trims, from the Longitude to the top-end Model S. Priced at Rs 28.49 lakh, the Black Shark variant offers features akin to the Limited trim, including full-LED lighting, auto-headlamps and wipers, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, 6-speaker audio, powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, part-digital instrumentation with a 7-inch screen, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features include six airbags, hill-hold, TPMS, and ESC.

While the Jeep Compass maintains its premium pricing, ranging from Rs 23.99 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh, these new variants aim to broaden its appeal. The unchanged or potentially improved driving experience adds an advantage, making the Compass more accessible to a wider audience.
