New-Gen Jeep Compass Big update Confirmed For 2025

Jeep introduced the Compass to international markets in 2007, followed by a new generation in 2016. Since its domestic debut in July 2017, the Compass has played a pivotal role at the Ranjagaon facility, acting as a production hub for global RHD markets within Stellantis.

Over the years, the second-generation Compass has undergone regular updates, featuring new variants, special editions, and variant rejigs. The 2024 model year for Europe marks a significant update with Level 2 ADAS, exclusively available in e-Hybrid and 4Xe plug-in hybrid powertrain options.

Noteworthy is the seven-seater derivative, the Meridian, available in the Indian market. The next-generation Compass is currently in development, set to be manufactured at the Melfi plant in Italy. Stellantis has confirmed its underpinning by the STLA Medium architecture, with hybrid and all-electric powertrains in select markets.

Although the manufacturing unit has the capacity to produce 1,600 cars per day, current production operates at half capacity.

Plans for the next-gen Renegade and 500X remain undisclosed. The Melfi plant will also produce the new DS9 and DS7, with nameplates from Lancia and Opel on the STLA Medium architecture. Notably, the Peugeot e-3008 is the inaugural model on this architecture.

Beyond India and Italy, the Compass is manufactured in Pernambuco (Brazil) and Toluca (Mexico). As the Compass EV won’t qualify for federal incentives in the United States, production considerations diverge. In India, equipped with a 2.0L diesel engine, the all-new Compass launch timeline remains uncertain, promising potential continuity in powertrain offerings.
