P&G India Appoints Kumar Venkatasubramanian as New CEO

Packaged consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble India made headlines with the appointment of Kumar Venkatasubramanian as its new CEO, effective May 1, 2024. Venkatasubramanian, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, will succeed LV Vaidyanathan, who served P&G for 28 years, overseeing brands like Ariel, Tide, and Olay.

Venkatasubramanian, aged 48, joined P&G’s sales team in India in 2000, amassing over two decades of experience, including leadership roles in India and abroad. Currently heading P&G’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, he previously led the sales team in India until 2020.

Stanislav Vecera, P&G President for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, commended Vaidyanathan’s leadership and welcomed Venkatasubramanian’s appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to steer P&G India to new heights.

P&G India, comprising Gillette India and Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care, has witnessed substantial investments, with plans for further expansion, including a new manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

Venkatasubramanian emphasized a focus on integrated growth strategies and product excellence to sustain P&G India’s momentum. He aims to lead disruptive changes across the industry value chain, leveraging an agile and accountable organization for sustained growth.
