Unidentified Gunmen Kill Nine Pakistanis in Iran

In a tragic incident, at least nine Pakistani nationals fell victim to unidentified gunmen in Iran’s restive southeastern border area of Saravan on Saturday, January 27.

Expressing deep shock, Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran Muhammad Mudassir Tipi announced full support for the bereaved families. The attack, labeled a “terrorist incident” by Pakistan’s foreign ministry, prompted urgent calls for Iran’s collaboration in the investigation.

The assailants, described as three armed individuals, entered the victims’ residence in Saravan, according to survivors. The attackers shot the foreigners, leaving nine dead and three wounded, before swiftly fleeing the scene.

While the Iranian semi-official news agency Mehr News reported the incident, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the tragic attack.

In response, Pakistan’s foreign ministry condemned the incident as “horrifying and despicable.” Urgent diplomatic communication between the two nations emphasizes the need for an immediate investigation to identify and hold accountable those involved in this heinous crime.

As the international community mourns the loss of lives, swift and transparent cooperation between Iran and Pakistan becomes crucial to uncover the circumstances surrounding this devastating attack.
