A Hezbollah commander, Ali al-Debs, along with two other fighters, and seven civilians fell victim to an Israeli strike in Nabatiyeh, Southern Lebanon, as confirmed by a security source on Thursday. The death toll from the raid on Wednesday has risen to 10, marking the deadliest strike since hostilities began in October.
Ali al-Debs, previously targeted and wounded in a drone strike on February 8, was among those killed. The strike also claimed the lives of two other Hezbollah fighters and seven civilians from the same family, intensifying concerns of a broader conflict.
Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of three fighters, including Debs, without specifying the location. The Israeli army reported a soldier’s death from unclaimed rocket fire from Lebanon, prompting retaliatory strikes.
The National News Agency identified five of the civilian casualties in Nabatiyeh, including Hussein Barjawi, his family members, and relatives. Emergency responders rescued a boy from the rubble while others sustained injuries.

In another incident, Israeli warplanes targeted a house in Sawwaneh, killing three family members, including a Syrian woman and her two children. Cross-border fire between Israeli military and Hezbollah has intensified since October.
Tensions mount as fears of a full-blown conflict between Israel and Hezbollah grow. Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s chief, is set to address the escalating situation. The violence has claimed hundreds of lives, including Hezbollah fighters and civilians in Lebanon, and soldiers and civilians in Israel.
The strike in Nabatiyeh and subsequent retaliation highlight the fragility of the situation and the potential for further escalation in the region.
